Yamila Diaz

Yamila Diaz-Rahi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on March 9, 1977. Of Lebanese and Spanish descent, Yamila was the daughter of a doctor (father) and a health care manager (mother). Pursuing an educational path, Yamila was discovered by a modeling agency scout in Buenos Aires at age 19 when she was studying Economics at the time. She then went to Milan, Italy where she began her career as a model.

Yamila started out at the bottom in department store catalogues, but fortune smiled once more on the beautiful girl, and she moved up to the 1999 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Calendar. The opportunity vaulted her to international attention, and she quickly became a hot commodity for the likes of Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Victoria's Secret Catalog. Thereafter, she appeared on the cover of magazines around the world, with emphasis on modeling lingerie. She expanded her horizons, appearing on the top magazines and made a repeat performance in the 2000 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition along with newcomers Estella Warren and Laetitia Casta.

Yamila has since been cast in an Italian feature film, "Love of the Fishes" ("Il Pesce Innamorato"). Realizing that her career moves have all been based on good fortune, Yamila has remained humble and thankful. With the short career-span that models can expect, the five-foot seven-inch, green-eyed Yamila has concentrated on her continuing education with an emphasis on her language skills.
