Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams was born on October 7, 1976 in London, Ontario. With
early ambitions in competitive figure skating, Rachel was thirteen years
old when she decided to join a summer theater acting camp. After
graduating from York University in Toronto, Rachel began her climb to
success in 2001 when she appeared in the Disney series, "The Famous Jett
Jackson." Small and insignificant roles followed, including the lead
role in "Shotgun Love Dolls" and an episode of "Earth: Final Conflict."
The next year she appeared in "My Name is Tanino," "Perfect Pie," and
"The Hot Chick," along with Rob Schneider. It was then that she
acquired the career-changing role as Regina George, the resident nasty
girl, in the hit film "Mean Girls" (2004). In the film she starred
opposite
Lindsay Lohan. The project resulted in critical acclaim throughout
North America.
Appearing in the Canadian television series "Slings and Arrows," Rachel had
to bow out of the third season because of her rising stardom south of
the border. After "Mean Girls," came "The Notebook" with Ryan Gosling,
with whom she would share an onscreen and off-screen romance. (The two
were both born in the same Hospital in London, Ontario.) 2005 saw her
in the arms of Owen Wilson in "Wedding Crashers" and later she starred
in the superb Wes Craven Airplane Thriller, "Red Eye." This was
followed by the comedy, "The Family Stone," along with Diane Keaton and
Craig T. Nelson, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Claire Danes.
