Paz Vega

Paz Vega was born in Seville, Spain as Paz Campos Trigo on the 2nd of January, 1976. When she was still a teenager, she decided she wanted to be an actress, first finishing her public education, then attending the Central Andaluz Theatre Stage School. When she had finished her studies, she moved to Madrid, and shortly after made her television debut in a Spanish television series, "Menudo Es Mi Padre." After a few more television series appearances, she reached the big screen in the 1999 movies, "Zapping" and David Menkes' "I Will Survive." It wasn't until she appeared in the sitcom "7 vidas" that same year that she became a big name star in her own country. The Spanish version of the American sitcom "Friends," it created for her the character of Laura, which brought her to the attention of many adoring fans as well as film maker Mateo Gil who gave her a major role in his next film, "Nadie Conoce a Nadie." Another film maker, cast her in the sensual "Sex and Lucia," which eventually became an international hit, winning her a Spanish Goya Award for Best Female Newcomer.

Paz went on to star in many more films, including "Talk to Her," which won an Oscar for Best Screenplay, a unique honor for a foreign-language film. This was followed by the 2002 comedy, "The Other Side of the Bed," and the 2003 film, "Carmen." It was in 2004, that Paz made her Hollywood debut, as the latina housekeeper in the Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni comedy, "Spanglish." Paz continues to live in Madrid with her husband, Orson Salazar.
