Paola Rey

Paola Rey was born in Bucaramanga, Columbia, South America as Paola Andrea Rey on December 19, 1979. Before she began her acting career, she studied industrial engineering at the Universidad de Sabana. Trying out for a role in a telenovela (Fuego Verde), she surprised herself and her family by being accepted for the part. This lead her to quit her academic career to pursue her dream of being an actress. Without any formal training in acting, she quickly had to catch up for lost time, and began drama courses to enhance her natural talents. By the end of the year, she had won a TV and Novelas Award for the best female breakthrough performance. In 1998, she was cast in the soap opera, "Castillo de Haipes" and the next year she signed a contract with Cenpor TV Columbia for a role in Por Que Diablos? The next year she got the leading role as Fabiola (a character which brought her nationwide popularity) in "La Baby Sister" (2000).

Paola is a racing car enthusiast who is dating a racing driver. Having made her success locally and with a growing fanbase throughout the Latin acting world, she nevertheless continues to pursue a career path that she hopes will one day lead from the telenovela circuit all the way to Broadway.
