Niurka Marcos

Niurka Marcos was born in Havana, Cuba on November 25th, 1967 as Niurka Marcos Calle. Niurka attended the National Circus School in Cuba, then moved to Mexico where she became a dancer at the Tropicana night club. The young Niurka, often known simply by her first name, began the next phase of her career on Telenovela. Her future was enhanced when she met and dated producer, Juan Osorio, becoming a star on many of his productions. Plans to marry fell apart when Niurka revealed to Mexican television and newspaper reporters of her romance with co-star, Bobby Larios. The two got married in Mexico City in early 2004, with a planned reality series starring the two of them that would be based on their home lives as well as releasing a 2005 calendar together. But two years later, the couple separated.

Niurka has mostly made Mexican soap operas, including "Vivo por Elena", "Gotitas de Amor", and "Tres Mujeres," but became famous because of her appearance in a musical spectacular, "Aventurera." As well as making a music CD, Niurka has received various awards, including the Sol de Mexico award, the Palma de Oro, and a number of television and Novelas magazine awards.
