Natalie Imbruglia

Natalie Imbruglia was born Natalie Jane Imbruglia on February 4, 1975 in Australia. The second of 4 daughters, with roots in Italy and Australia, Natalie grew up in a small town along the central coast. After taking tap and ballet lessons as a child, she was determined to make it in acting, and headed to the big city of Sydney where she first appeared in commercials. She then moved on to acting in a popular soap opera, and was so successful that the producers made her character a permanent feature of the series, "Neighbours." Inspired by dwindling finances, she tried her hand at songwriting, showing her work to BMG execs. The effort led to her first single, an immediate hit on both sides of the Atlantic. "Torn" reached number 2 on the pop charts in 1997 and was followed by a successful video, an appearance on Saturday Night Live, and eventually earned her numerous awards. It was followed by an equally successful debut album, "Left of the Middle" which sold more than a million copies. Her sophomore album, "White Lilies Island" was released in 2001.

After her musical successes, Natalie returned to acting, this time in a feature film along with Rowan Atkinson (already famous as "Mr. Bean"). The movie was a spy comedy, called "Johnny English."

In the spring of 2005, Natalie released her third album, "Counting Down The Days to the UK." In its first week, it hit number one on the U.K. charts, propelled by the single "Shiver," which remained on the charts for many weeks. A few months later, a second single from the album was released, "Counting Down the Days" and pushed the sales of the album even higher. Catching the attention of the media by dating celebrities that include David Schwimmer ("Friends") and Lenny Kravitz, Natalie continues to act and record music.
