Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez was born on July 12, 1978 as Michelle Marie Rodriguez
in Bexar County, Texas. After her parents divorced, the young girl
moved to the Dominican Republic at age eight with her mother and three
years later to Puerto Rico, eventually relocating to New Jersey. She did
not do well in school and always dreamed of being an actress. Without
the privileges of being brought up in an acting family and having
significant contacts, she simply answered an ad for an open casting call
for a low-budget film, called "Girlfight." To everyone's surprise, she
won the part as Diana Guzman, boxer. After the film's release in 2000,
her performance was singled out as the highlight of the film. With
follow-up standout performances in "The Fast and the Furious" and
"Resident Evil," the hard-working actress eventually landed a choice role
in the popular television series, "Lost" as Ana-Lucia Cortez.
