Kirsten Imrie
Kirsten Imrie was born in Kensington, London, U.K. on October 26, 1967
(Year of the Sheep). Starting
out as a model and actress, she moved up from Page 3 shoots to
become a television presenter and a sports announcer. She appeared in
men's magazines on both sides of the Atlantic. Her movie career
consisted of a small role in a Peter O'Toole movie, "The Rainbow Thief"
released in 1990. In 1996, she appeared in so many Glamour calendars
that she was proclaimed "The Face of 96" by a photography magazine.
1969 was the year of inception for the Page Three girl, the brainchild
of Rupert Murdoch and a feature of The Sun tabloid. The idea was
so successful as a newspaper promotion, that it was imitated around the
world shortly thereafter. Sales of the previously doomed tabloid
skyrocketed by almost 50 percent when the feature was introduced.
