Jeannie Ortega
Jeannie Ortega was born Jeannette Ortega in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York
on November 19, 1986. Best known as a hip hop performer, the girl with
the Puerto Rican roots, has also engaged in songwriting, dancing, and
acting. A graduate of the Brooklyn High School of The Arts, Jeannie
performed in local parks in a children's singing group (Sugar and Spice;
she was Spice). Growing up in the midst of a dangerous street
environment, the young girl was driven by a sense of responsibility and
unwavering ambition, and by age sixteen, she had made her first record
which made it to the movie soundtrack, "Love Don't Cost a Thing."
