Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes, the real Amazing Amanda girl-next door, was born on April
3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California. Starting to act when she was only
seven, she first appeared in television commercials and went on to take
acting training, which eventually led to becoming a regular in "All
That" (1996). Her big break came as star on "The Amanda Show." She
then moved on to feature films, starting with "Big Fat Liar" in 2002
alongside Frankie Muniz ("Malcolm in the Middle"). A year later she
had a lead role in "What A Girl Wants" a moderate box office success.
She has also added voice acting to her resume with a role in the
animated comedy, Robots (2005).
The daughter of a Dentist and a Dental assistant, the girl-next-door has
become a favorite comedian to teenage audiences, the girls dreaming of
emulating the funny and highly personable teen and the boys likely
dreaming of a date with Amanda Bynes in a bikini. Amanda's latest
blockbuster effort effort is "She's the Man," in which Amanda disguises
herself as a boy in order to enroll in a boarding school. As the young
star matures, she has set her sights on more mature acting roles, and is
expected to have a long career that should eventually include dramatic
roles despite her penchant for comedy.
